Over the years, my interest in movies has fluctuated and morphed, sometimes emphasizing the art of narrative, at other times the craft of the camera. In some periods, I’ve been most interested in the indie, the wild and new, and the serious, but in other life stages, I’ve found myself fascinated by the popular and the pulse of culture. Right now, I recognize in myself a special fondness for the inventive and technical and being drawn toward the classics before my time—but who knows, tomorrow it might be different.
